“In a decaying society, art, if it is truthful, must also reflect decay. And unless it wants to break faith with its social function, art must show the world as changeable. And help to change it.” – Ernst Fischer

Ruang Kongsi brings to you “Capitalism: An Anti-Imperialist Poster Exhibition” in Penang. The posters displayed in this exhibition are part of the series of the Online Anti-Imperialist Poster Exhibitions jointly curated by International Week of Anti-Imperialist Struggle and Tricontinental: Institute for Social Research.

This exhibition is a search for new visual expressions for the realities we are living in. 77 artists from 26 countries and 21 organisations, predominantly from the Global South, share their realities with us.
We hope to reproduce, multiply and socialize the ideas being shared in these posters through this physical exhibition.
